What a busy fall here at Red Shoes Photography! I’ve been all over the place photographing weddings, including this one in the English countryside! Grace and Michael met in business school in Arizona, she from Wisconsin, he from England. One of their first interactions was in the library where he told her she had nice legs and she threw a book at him. Seriously, that happened.
The situation improved, and Grace stopped throwing hard objects at Michael and they fell in love. They wanted to have their wedding in the English countryside, in the small town of Great Henny in Suffolk. The bride wore her mother’s dress, which was carefully restored and altered by her cousin, a Broadway musical costume designer. The groom wanted to honor his Scottish heritage by wearing a kilt and entertaining guests with traditional Scottish dancing at the reception. I loved so much about this wedding, from the adorable cottages that guests stayed in, to the bagpipes that ushered in the bride to the church to the boat rides down the river at sunset at the reception. But most of all I loved capturing the joy and love that Grace and Michael have for each other and the contagious happiness they have of finding a life partner in each other.
Grace and Michael, I am so happy for you and the new life you have started together. Thank you for bringing me to England and including me in your wedding story.
